New fascination. Found by Husbandido in the yard; It is one of our resident groundhogs' skulls, presumably the baby, but I'm not sure. I find the color and structure of this magnificent and universal body part a work of art. A few things it inspires and incites in me are the contemplation of transformation - death, the concept of containers and protection, cavernous parts in ourselves and animals alike (both actual and perceived) and just plain old - earth. Earth -as holder and nurturer to our physical bodies, which we will all leave one day for a new plane.
Black ink seemed appropriate to explore though not the best rendering - it's simple and instinctual.
